When was the last time you listened to your body?
Have you ever stopped to think that your body is speaking to you?
When you are low on energy, can’t get out of bed, have constant headaches or numerous colds each year these signs are indications that your body is speaking to you.
In today’s society we are so are all so busy, consumed with demanding jobs, families, social & peer pressures… we don’t have time to be sick. So when we find our body failing us we are quick to turn to pharmaceutical solutions for a quick fix. Unfortunately these “quick fixes” are just masking the true concerns. Taking a painkiller or a miracle pill will only help you for so long, and more often than not, the ailment will occur with vengeance.
Your body is a guide for your wellness. As we age it becomes more important to listen to your body to help understand your health and wellness. Pain is always telling us something is wrong, but lessor signs and symptoms are also speaking to us… bloated stomach, irritable bowls, even constant flatulence!
Don’t worry; there is no need to go into panic mode. But simply it’s a reminder that when things aren’t feeling right, or your energy levels won’t pick up, then maybe it’s time to stop, listen, and pay attention to what your body is trying to tell you. Pick up the phone and book an appointment with your local health practitioner and seek professional advice to help you on your wellness journey.
We live in a fast paced world, and we so often forget to look after ourselves when we are too busy looking after other things and people. It’s a good idea to not only listen to your body, but to also follow preventative treatment, which includes fueling your body with wholesome nutritious foods. A sign of low energy could be as simple as looking at your diet. A diet high in processed, sugary foods can easily lead to low energy levels. Therefore it’s essential that if you need energy to help you through out the day that you nourish your body with the right fuels to do so. Think of green juices to start your day instead of your skinny latte. Opt for a lunch high in nutritional healthy fats to help fuel you through a long day in the office – a smoked salmon salad with avocado! Ditch the 3pm coffee & chocolate fix and opt for a green tea and carrot sticks with hummus. Let dinner be grilled fish or chicken and steam veges or salad, easy to prepare, and a much healthier alterative than a quick takeaway. Try nourishing yourself with a good diet for a few weeks and your body will thank you for it.
So next time when your body starts to fail you, and you can feel the dreaded flu coming on (for the 3rd time in a year) – maybe you should stop to think that it’s not your body failing you, more so, you are failing your body! SO LISTEN WHEN YOUR BODY SPEAKS!
